What do I need to do right now?

Reserve your hotel room using the link on the Travel page by April 1st, 2026. You won't be charged anything right now — the Edition will charge you for a single night as a deposit on 1/29/27, and you'll pay the remaining balance at check-out. After that, book a flight to Cancun that gets you in before 4 PM on Friday, 2/26/27. If you're only coming for the wedding, plan your return for Monday, 3/1/27.

Does reserving a room mean I'm formally RSVP-ing?

Technically, no. If you don't reserve a room before April 1st, we'll take that as a sign you can't make it. Remember, you don't have to pay anything until January 29, 2027. In the fall, we'll send a formal invitation to everyone with a reserved room. You'll officially RSVP, share dietary restrictions, and pick your meal. The guest list locks on December 1, 2026.

What should I expect for the wedding?

A really good time! Our wedding spans 3 days with 5 events: a welcome cocktail reception on Friday evening, a sunset ceremony Saturday, a reception Saturday night, an after party, and an encore party at the beach club Sunday afternoon. Expect delicious food, open bar, and incredible vibes at every single event.

Will I have time on my own during the weekend?

Yes! You’ll have all afternoon Friday and Saturday until the ceremony to do as you please. Maybe join Mike for some Saturday morning yoga. You’ll also be free Sunday evening after the beach party. Kanai has plenty to keep you entertained between the Edition’s beach club, lobby bar, restaurants, and the facilities next door at the St. Regis. We highly recommend getting a reservation at Toro in the St. Regis.

Is the resort all-inclusive?

No, but there will be plenty of food and an open bar at every single one of our wedding events. The only times you’ll be on your own for meals are Saturday morning and Sunday evening.

Why isn’t there a registry?

We consider your presence the only gift that we need, and we know you’re already spending money to be with us! Any additional gifts are entirely optional. If you’d still like to give something, we’re very grateful — you can donate to one of the funds on our Registry page.

Can I bring my kids?

We love your kids, but ask that you keep them home for the weekend. Many of the venues at The Edition (like the beach club) are adults-only. Plus — you probably need a vacation from being a parent too, right?

How do I get to the Edition Kanai?

Fly into Cancun airport (CUN), then take ground transportation to the hotel — it’s about 20 minutes south. We highly recommend arranging your car service ahead of time so you don’t have to deal with taxis.

What are the rooms like?

Stunning! The Edition brand is known for its creamy interior colors, hardwood accents, and lots of plants. Rooms in our block have either a single king bed or 2 queens. Book early to get the configuration you want! You can always upgrade to rooms with plunge pools by contacting the hotel directly at +52-984-122-4999.

How many people can be in a single room?

A room with 2 queen beds can have a maximum of 4 adults (or 2 adults and 2 children). A king room can have a maximum of 3 adults (or 2 adults and 1 child). If cost is a concern, the best way to save is to bunk up with friends and relatives. Looking for a roommate? Let us know and we’ll match you with someone.

Can I arrive earlier or stay longer?

Absolutely! Our discounted room block price is good for 3 days before and 3 days after our wedding dates. We really hope you extend your vacation at The Edition — it’s a remarkable property! We’ll be there a few days before and after as well.

What time is check-in & check-out?

Check-in is at 3:00 PM and check-out is at 12:00 PM.

Can I drink the water?

The hotel’s water is heavily filtered and safe. There’s also bottled water all over the resort, and nightly turndown service means you’ll always have a big water jug on your nightstand.

What do I wear on Friday?

It’s a white party! We want you in something semi-formal and white. Guys: think white button-down, white pants, loafers. Find a white jacket if you’re feeling fancy. Ladies: a white cocktail dress, sundress, or romper will look beautiful. No need for a full gown.

What do I wear on Saturday?

Tropical Formal — a bit more formal than Friday and colorful! Get creative with colorful jackets, suits, ties, and dresses. Avoid white, beige, or cream colors. Men: pants (no shorts) and a jacket. Women: something a bit more extravagant than Friday. Wear comfy shoes for walking and dancing. No walking on sand, and golf carts are available for those who need them.

What do I wear on Sunday?

Fun swim or resort wear. You’ll want a bathing suit to dip in the pool or ocean. Please keep it tasteful around our parents and elderly family members.

Is there anything I should avoid wearing?

No jeans, cargo shorts, Hawaiian shirts, sneakers, basketball shorts, workout shorts, baseball caps, or flip-flops (flip-flops are only ok for the Sunday beach party). Summer fabrics like linen, cotton, and seersucker are your best friends — leave heavier materials at home.

What should I pack?

Think White Lotus energy. Swimsuits, a good pair of sandals, hats, sunglasses, and lots of sunscreen. For dining, bring some collared shirts, short-sleeve button downs, nice pants, and cute cocktail or sun dresses. Remember: linen, cotton, and seersucker are your best friends in the Riviera Maya heat.

I have dietary restrictions — will that be an issue?

Not at all! The Edition is super accommodating. You’ll be able to let us know about your dietary restrictions when you formally RSVP. We’ll pass those along to the hotel to make sure you’re taken care of.
